You should stop being so selfish!
How will you ever learn if you don't teach it?
I sat with a face of resistance and self doubt as my peer challenged me to get out of my comfort zone.
"But that doesn't even make sense! I'm not an expert...! I can't even..."
I replied with a strange sense that my weak excuses were ultimately going to lead me to having to yield to her perspective. And ultimately they did because it wasn't her voice speaking but the voice of the LORD prompting her to give me a chance to take what I was learning and put it to use.
THIS GUY'S A ROOKIE!
Here I was young and afraid pulled out of my comfort zone called into the fray of dealing with those in distressed situations: incarcerated many without hope. About to learn a valuable lesson: I don't have to come with the answers but come with ears to listen and asking more questions.
